Mattie- Fall 2011

December 5, 2011

I am so use to chasing around children trying to capture a smile, that when I have a willing subject, I just do not know what to do with myself.  This session was by far the most relaxed I have ever felt, and having such a beautiful subject is just icing on the cake!!!  Thank you Kerry and Mattie for taking time from your trip to Dallas to hang out with me in the cold and wind!!!  I hope you enjoy the pictures…

Lily- Fall 2011

November 30, 2011

I have been taking pictures of Lily since she was first born, and I can’t believe she is already two!  She is always so cute, and ALWAYS fashionably dressed.  Thanks Phil & Jenny for meeting up with me last weekend at my new favorite picture place, it is always nice to catch up while taking pictures of sweet Lily.  Now on with the show…

Caden- Fall 2011

November 28, 2011

This was the forth year I have had the pleasure of hang out with Caden to snap a few pictures, and while I must say he has become MUCH more independent than he has been in years past, he is still just as sweet and handsome as ever!!  And I was super excited when his beautiful mom told me she wanted to be in a few of the pictures, I just knew the results would be awesome.   Thank you so much Laura for allowing me, year after year, to capture your sweet son.  Enjoy your preview and I will have your online gallery up soon…

I was a little concerned that the weather was going to keep us from getting to meet up on Sunday, but despite the forecast we made plans anyways…I am SO glad we did!  Not only did the afternoon turn out to be perfect weather, these two girl were just as sweet as can be.  I know I have said this a million times, but I swear I get the cutest kids and nicest parents, and this family is a perfect example of that statement…

Miss Kate turns 4!

July 27, 2011

Another fabulous session in Grapevine!  One of the things I love about photography is not only do I get to help create memories of such cute children and awesome families… but I get to watch them grow one year at a time.  And oh my how time flies!!  I have been photographing Miss Kate since she turned one, and it seems like just yesterday!! Thanks for a fun morning! Now on to the preview…

Just a preview of your gallery… so much more to be uploaded soon!!

I was so excited to learn that my nephew’s traveling baseball team was coming to city ( more like a 4 way stop… but I digress) near me!!!  He plays for a select baseball team that has God at the center of their efforts and hearts, which is such a refreshing thing to see in these amazing young boys. Check out their sponsor and coaches’ organization which is inspiring and uplifting: Baseball His Way.  My apologies in advance for the number of pics of my fabulous nephew :)  I just could not narrow them down AND I NEVER shoot sports photography so I was having fun playing with my rented 70-200L IS (note: RENTED!!!!  I wish I could owned this bad boy but more on that later…) so on to the show….

Now for those who would like my thoughts on the  70-200 f/2.8 IS II:

1) Dislike: It was way slower than I am use to, however I am usually closer the my subject so my 5D MkII finds focus fast.  This lens “searched” a little too long for me to get the actions shots I expected, and 200 is probably the minimum focal length needed for this type of shooting.  The focal length is not the lens fault, but  having never shot b-ball… I had no clue 200 would be so limiting on shots.  But it was my first rodeo with this lens so I would give it another go-round before once again claiming prime is the only real way to shoot ;)

2) LOVE the natural vignetting this lens produces. Gorgeous.

Hoping to rent the 100-400 next time around when the Mission come this way again :)

A Few from the Cruise

April 8, 2011

It was a tough decision, but I decided not to take my “big” camera on the cruise with me.  I knew there would be amazing scenery all around that would be picture perfect but I did not want to 1) Worry about something happening to it if I left it in the room   2) Lug around my camera w/ my multiple lenses 3) Worry about something happening to it if I took it off the boat … SO I went with my Canon G10 ( which is an amazing little camera! but I am sure they are on G15 now LOL) PLUS I have the underwater housing for it so it was a win/win choice.  I really did not take my camera around with me much because I wanted to just soak in the moment, relax,  and not worry about getting a great shot.  So here are a few snaps from my 7 days in the Bahamas…
